This cartoon was inspired by the story of Destiny and Shawn Jackson who were caught up in a protest with their six kids. After a flash bang, tear gas enveloped their car, all kids struggled to breathe and the baby was limp and foaming at the mouth. Destiny Jackson performed CPR and told him, "I will give you all me breath till you get yours back." Discussions around why they were there or why they stayed looking for Destiny's mother fail to recognize that it is never okay to target kids with chemicals. And it is never okay to target every day citizens going about their daily lives, as is their right, with arbitrary intimidation and violence. The right to assembly, free speech and protest must be protected.
