Mike Shiell has over 20 years experience as a cartoonist, illustrator, animator and director. Currently the director of the new 3D animated preschool show "Guess With Jess" which will begin airing early 2010. Illustrator of the book "Chill" (Kids Can Press) due to be released spring of 2009. 2003-2007 - Director the the Emmy and Gemini award winning show the "Backyardigans". 2004-2005 - Director of "Wild Circus", a series of 5 shorts for the Funpak series produced by Nelvana. Creator and director of 3 shorts named the "Gray Man" series. 1999-2003 - Animator, animation supervisor and assistant director on a variety of shows including; Rolie Polie Olie, Little Miss Spider, Handy Manny, Rescue Heroes, Pecola and Santa Claus Brothers. 1997-1999 - Animation supervisor on a number of computer games for Universal Studios in San Jose California. 1988-1997 - Freelance illustrator and cartoonist. Education: 3 year diploma in Classical animation and 1 year diploma in computer animation from Sheridan Collage in Oakville Ontario.
