Well, that's a pity. I know very few about the political situation in Turkey, thanks for this insight.

Anyway I don't speak about Turkey. I speak general.

Well, I also speak in general, but you have to consider the differences within the countries.
There will be no political change in Germany, because the people moan although they are wealthy, while there might be no change in Turkey/Italy because the government controls the media and is connected with industry and lobbyists.

But unfortunately their numbers are more few than others. Politicians promise a lot of but forget most of them when they won election. Or some forces block them. I absolutely know what you mean and I totally agree with you. Maybe I'm just too optimistic.
You know I grew up with ambitious guys I thought they were liberal and unselfish, but then they changed to the wrong side... and I know young people can become those politicians you are complaining about. I mean, sometimes I think nothing will change...

Lastly it's not important what I write here, people will understand only they want.

That's not true, if you think of me. Please, I am not ignorant, otherwise I wouldn't answer your comments in that detailed way.

It's easy to speak about democracy when you don't have Silvio Berlusconi like prime minister! There is same condition in Turkey too. The government has a lot of newspapers and tvs and they make publishing of sided. Erdoğan is most rich 6th prime minister of the world. We don't know how he succeed this.

Marc! A political party administer Turkey that %60 of Turkey didn't vote them and didn't want them. There was cheat in %40 too. Anyway I don't speak about Turkey. I speak general.
Of course there are politicians that work for their folk and humanity. (I'm grateful them.) But unfortunately their numbers are more few than others.

I absolutely agree with Matteo and PP. The situation in Italy is horrible. it is the most clear example that how a system can be corrupted until unbelievable limits...

I understand your feelings and you explained them very well in your cartoon, Matteo. It sounds horrible.
And I know that Berlusconi does not represent you, just his group and his lobby.
I knew what's going on in Italy by different media, but to hear it from you and to see it in your cartoon is a very special thing.

Keep it on with your great cartoons, they are important, Matteo. Time will tell.

... as for the Berlusconi regime, I agree that the whole thing is more than scary. From a distance, I get the feeling that people vote for him because they lost their confidence in politics - with the absurd outcome of him undermining politics even more. Isn't it more that all the people voting for him must be convinced that there are better options?

Quote:
they don't represent us and don't work for advantage of folk.

technically, they DO represent you, because you voted for them, and that's how representative democracy works. The problem that "they" don't work for advantage of "folk" is just due to the fact that all politicians are corrupt. C'mon... you don't really believe in such stereotypes. There are lots of corrupt assholes and some of them are politicians. maybe a higher percentage of politicians than of other groups, because power is tempting. But, on the other hand, there are other kinds of power that are just as tempting.
REAL DEMOCRACY is bollocks. in my opinion. Power structures would remain in place in a direct democracy as well, probably media as agenda setting entities would be even more powerful and looking at the situation in Italy, that's nothing anyone could want.
Maybe I am being unfair here, but I believe, that the whole "recycle" and "extirpate" business is based on shortsighted stereotypes and doesn't offer any real solution.

I didn't mean kill politicians. I'm not murderer. I mean to extirpate baneful GARBAGES (materials) for nature and humans. This is only a metaphor.

I KNOW you are no murderer and you do not mean that literally! You are a peaceful person, as I am. But you were talking about extirpating politicians in general - I'm sorry, if you say so, people like me will misunderstand you.

menekse wrote:

Otherwise, yes politicians are elected groups by our but they don't represent us and don't work for advantage of folk.

That's maybe true for Izmir or Turkey, but it's just wrong to state that NO politician represents the people and works for their advantage. No one in my area could state that there is no politician working for the people.
It's a hard time for the global democratic system which evolved in the past 60 years, maybe it got too capitalist, but otherwise - I guess - there would be much more wars and suffering.

menekse wrote:

The alternative way is REAL DEMOCRACY in my opinion.

Ok, then. I think, also in your country, you have the right to change something. Turkey is a democratic republic, that means you can become president, you can have Güls or Erdogans place. Stop complaining and do something.
At the moment, I am content with my life, I do not need to change my country.

Why are politicians elected, then? Who votes for them? The people.
